MEMBERSHIP FEES
Membership runs from September 1st to August 31st each year.
Membership fees are banded, according to cost; Band 5 - highest, Band 1 – lowest.
You can join up to 4 groups chosen from Bands 2 to 5. You may join as many Band 1 groups as you like.
Your fee is determined by the highest band of a group to which you belong.
For example, if you wish to join Chess, Photography and Table Tennis, YOU ONLY PAY THE ONE FEE – the fee for the for the highest cost group (Table Tennis, Band 4). If you join after 31st March, the pro-rata fee applies. Membership will then run until 31 August.
We have a reciprocal arrangement with Purbeck u3a, so if you are a member of Purbeck u3a, you can join us at a reduced fee.
The table below shows the groups in each band together with the fees (for the year 2025-26) for U&L-only and Reciprocal members.

HOW TO JOIN
You can register to join for the year beginning in September after August 8th.
If you are not already a member and you find groups you would like to join, (preferably) complete the online registration form.
Alternatively, complete a paper copy of the form, available in Upton and Lytchett libraries, or by contacting our New Enquiries Secretary via our Contact Us page. If you have a printer, you can also download a pdf version of the paper form here to print yourself.
Before joining, however, you should check with the relevant group leaders that the groups you wish to join do have vacancies. The contact details for each group leader can be found in the Information Booklet; we do not publish them on this website for security reasons.
If you don't have a copy of the Information Booklet, send an email to our Groups Coordinator via our Contact Us page., who will send you the appropriate contact details for the groups you wish to join.
If you are already a member, we will send a reminder (by email or post). You can then renew your subscription, preferably using the online form, or the paper form as above. If you want to join a group to which you don't already belong, you should check that there are vacancies by following the instructions above.
Once you have completed the form, you need to pay! You can pay by BACS bank transfer or by cheque. Full instructions on how to pay are given on the form.
IF THE GROUP YOU'D LIKE TO JOIN IS NOT CURRENTLY LISTED...
..... then contact our Groups Coordinator via our Contact Us page to register your interest in a possible new group (or better still, to volunteer to lead the group!)
