Upton & Lytchett

Welcome to Upton & Lytchett U3A

WHO WE ARE

U3a is a UK-wide, cooperative movement of people no longer in full time work who come together to continue their educational, social and creative interests in a friendly and informal environment.

Upton & Lytchett u3a, like each of the other 1000+ u3as across the UK, is entirely run by members, for members. Although each u3a is independent, they all operate under the advice and guidance of the national u3a organisation, the Third Age Trust (TAT).

You can watch a brief animated video of what u3a provides here.

Each u3a is formally and transparently organised, with its own constitution and the necessary legal framework of policies and procedures, and insurance cover, and its own committee drawn from its own membership and formally voted into office at each AGM.

You can read our constitution, policies and procedures below.

WHAT WE DO

Upton & Lytchett u3a fulfils its mission by running special interest groups which meet regularly – weekly or fortnightly or monthly -with a wide range of subjects.

We also organise occasional social events, and there is a Christmas party!

WHAT THE NATIONAL U3A DOES FOR MEMBERS

Your membership of Upton & Lytchett u3a also means that you belong to the national u3a organisation, which provides a diverse range of talks, workshops and courses on Zoom. These events are a great opportunity to try something new, led by members with a passion or talent to share or specialist guest speakers. You can access the National u3a website here.

SO, IF YOU AREN'T ALREADY A MEMBER, WHY NOT JOIN US? …
